First Lady- Greater Community Temple C.O.G.I.C.

Melody G. Porter is the first lady of Greater Community Temple Church of God in Christ, where she proudly serves with her husband and pastor, Elder Brandon B. Porter. Her love for God is evident in her humble nature and her ministry to the congregation and community. She is an active force in Greater Community Temple Ministries, currently serving as president of the Women's Department.

First Lady Porter is the lovely mother of two handsome sons, Brandon II and Bryson. Melody is the oldest child of Deacon and Mrs. Willie Roy Harris and she has six siblings.

First Lady Porter is a graduate of Northside High School, attended Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee, Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. By trade, she is a registered nurse.

First Lady Porter is a natural born leader because she touches a heart before she asks for a hand. As an untiring servant at G.C.T., she labors as director of the Women's Department with several auxiliaries under her leadership. She is also co-president of the Couples' ministry, where she works alongside her husband. In addition, she is a member of the nurse's union at the church. Although mild-mannered and soft-spoken, when she does speak, it is like the law of E. F. Hutton - people listen.

Sis. Porter is one of God's prized possessions, a beautiful example of a woman, a first lady, a minister's wife, a mother, a teacher, and a leader. First Lady Porter is an embodiment of unconditional love, devoted to the service of all humanity.
